For the closing weekend of Bucharest Food Week, we welcome our favourite restaurant in Paris, Les Enfants du Marché, to Tabra for a two-day collaboration on 19th and 20th September.

Few things to know before you book:

  • The menu will feature starters from 55 RON and mains from 95 RON. And that's not all. Full details to be announced soon.
  • Opening hours: 12:00 - 22:00 (for both Saturday & Sunday services). Please keep in mind that tables are held for 1 hour and 45 minutes per seating.
  • Note: Because we are replicating Les Enfants du Marché's market stand in the Tabra courtyard for this event, guests will sit at high tables and on bar chairs.

If you know the place, you know why this is a big deal. If you don't, read on find out what it’s all about.

Literally a Paris institution

Tucked inside the Marché des Enfants Rouges, Paris's oldest covered market, Les Enfants du Marché is not your regular street food stall. It's not quite a restaurant, not quite a wine bar, and definitely not your typical French dining experience. This is high-level gastronomy: modern cooking techniques, some of the best local products in town and beautifully plated dishes, all served from a counter in the middle of a buzzing market. If Michelin ever awarded stars to market stalls in France (ahem), this one would definitely deserve it.

Michael Grosman opened Les Enfants du Marché in 2017 and, over the years, the counter inside the market has become an institution. Michelin-starred legendary chefs such as Alain Ducasse, Hélène Darroze and Yannick Alléno are huge fans, Dua Lipa recently named the place one of her favourite spots to eat in Paris in a Vogue interview, Action Bronson dedicated a large part of his video "Ode" to the French capital's gastronomic scene, and the examples go on.

Les Enfants du Marché Philosophy

Even though Les Enfants du Marché has expanded over time (they opened a wine shop near the market and a second restaurant in Biarritz in 2025), their philosophy remains the same. Michael and his team are still very well connected to their surroundings: the producers, the ingredients, the noise, the people. Still the same respect for high-quality local products.

It's the spirit that made Les Enfants du Marché world-famous. Over the years, they've been on the road for pop-ups and collaborations, always adapting to the place. Beijing, New York, London. Now Bucharest.

But as Michael said, the point is not to just reproduce Paris somewhere else, but to create an encounter. Bringing their approach to food, energy and way of welcoming people, while allowing the local culture and produce to enter the kitchen.

From Paris to Bucharest

Tabra, the restaurant which will host Le Grand Final, is one of Bucharest's most exciting culinary spots to date. Opened in 2025, this place has an entire menu centered around open-fired cooking and offers probably the best wine list in town.

The idea for Le Grand Final started with a late-night conversation with the Tabra team: what if we brought Les Enfants du Marché here? It quickly became something much bigger than a guest chef dinner.

For two days, Tabra's courtyard will host a custom-built version of the Les Enfants du Marché counter, designed by AÉ02, the award-winning architecture and design studio founded by Elena Viziteu and Anda Zota. Michael Grosman and his team will be here, cooking with local products and bringing their own way of doing things, while allowing Bucharest to become part of the experience.

And, for the first time, Les Enfants du Marché is bringing its counter to Bucharest. Literally.

This is Le Grand Final. You don't want to miss it.

What to expect?

Expect a menu full of surprises, with strong French influences, exceptional local produce and plenty of inspiration from Obor Market. Les Enfants du Marché and Tabra are bringing some unexpected ideas to the table, too.

What we can tell you for sure is that it will be à la carte, so you'd better come accompanied in order to try more things. Expect prices starting from 55 RON (starters) and from 95 RON (mains).

Reservations are limited to 1 hour and 45 minutes, but we can assure you there's plenty of time to enjoy the Les Enfants du Marché experience.

See you soon! À bientôt!
