Terms & Conditions
Who we are
Bucharest Food Week (the “Festival”, “BFW”) is a food festival organised under the joint brand Călătorii și Farfurii & ialoc. The website bucharestfoodweek.ro (the “Site”) is operated by IALOC SRL (the “Organiser”, “we”), a company with its registered office at Str. Radu Popescu no. 10, Bl. 32A, Sc. A, Et. 3, Târgoviște, Dâmbovița County, Romania, registered with the Trade Register under no. J15/556/2018, tax ID 37066853. You can reach us at hello@foodweek.ro.
Using the Site means you have read and accept these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
What the Site does
The Site presents the Festival programme: participating restaurants and their festival menus, special events (masterclasses, pop-ups, the finale) and related information. Through the Site you can discover restaurants and menus, start a restaurant booking (hosted by ialoc), buy masterclass tickets and subscribe to our newsletter.
Information about restaurants, menus, prices, chefs and events comes from the Festival's partners and may change or be withdrawn without prior notice. We make reasonable efforts to keep it accurate and current but do not guarantee it.
Restaurant bookings
Bookings at participating restaurants are made through the ialoc platform and confirmed by it. The booking contract is concluded between you and the restaurant (and ialoc, as operator of the booking platform), and ialoc's terms and conditions apply to those bookings; you accept them within the ialoc booking flow. The BFW Organiser is not a party to the booking contract, charges nothing for the booking and does not guarantee table availability.
Festival menus
Each participating restaurant offers one festival menu for the duration of the Festival, at its category price, shown per person. Drinks are not included unless expressly stated. The menu, ingredients, availability and service are the restaurant's sole responsibility. For allergies, intolerances or special dietary needs, ask the restaurant directly before booking or on site.
Masterclass tickets, purchase
Tickets to masterclasses and other paid events are sold directly through the Site, and the seller is IALOC SRL. The purchase is a distance contract governed by these Terms.
- Price and currency. Prices are shown in Romanian lei (RON) and include VAT. The applicable price is the one displayed at the time of your order.
- Payment. Payment is made online through our payment processor, Stripe. Your card details are entered and processed by Stripe; we do not store your full card details.
- Formation of contract. The contract is concluded when payment is confirmed and you receive a confirmation e-mail with your ticket. If payment cannot be processed, the order is not completed.
- Limited seats. Seats are limited and allocated in the order that payment is confirmed. If an event sells out after you start your order and your payment did not complete, we will refund any amount taken.
- The ticket. A ticket is personal and admits one person to the stated event. You may be asked to show your ticket (and, where relevant, ID) at entry.
- Minimum age. Some events have age restrictions. Masterclasses involving the serving of alcohol (for example mixology) are reserved for persons aged 18 and over; we may ask for proof of age at entry.
Right of withdrawal for event tickets
Masterclass tickets are services related to leisure activities for a specific date or period. Under Article 16(l) of Government Emergency Ordinance no. 34/2014 (which implements the EU Consumer Rights Directive), the 14-day right of withdrawal does not apply to such services. By completing your order, you acknowledge this and agree that the right of withdrawal does not apply to your ticket.
Cancellations, rescheduling and refunds
- If the Organiser cancels an event, you receive, at your choice, a full refund of the ticket price or a ticket for a rescheduled date.
- If the Organiser materially reschedules an event (date, time or venue), you may choose to keep your ticket for the new date or receive a full refund.
- Minor changes. We may replace a chef or adjust the theme, time or venue for objective reasons (for example a chef's unavailability). Such a change, if it does not materially affect the event, does not give a right to a refund.
- Your change of mind. If you cannot attend for reasons on your side, the ticket is non-refundable (subject to the exception above). You may, however, transfer the ticket to another person by notifying us in advance at hello@foodweek.ro.
- Refunds are made using the same payment method used for the purchase, within a reasonable time.
Newsletter
You may subscribe to our newsletter by providing your e-mail address. We will send you Festival news. You can unsubscribe at any time from any e-mail we send, or by writing to hello@foodweek.ro. How we handle your e-mail is described in the Privacy Policy.
Intellectual property
The trademarks, logos, names (“Bucharest Food Week”, “ialoc”, “Călătorii și Farfurii”), texts, design elements, photographs and other materials on the Site are protected and belong to the Organiser, its partners or the participating restaurants. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute or use them commercially without our prior written consent. Restaurant and dish photographs are used with partners' permission and remain the property of their owners.
Your obligations
You agree to provide accurate, current information, to use the Site in accordance with the law and these Terms, and not to scrape content automatically, attempt unauthorised access to the Site or related systems, interfere with the code or security, or use the Site in a way that could harm it or other users.
Limitation of liability
The Site is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not warrant that it will operate uninterrupted or error-free. To the extent permitted by law:
- We are not responsible for the quality, safety, preparation or serving of food, nor for the services, premises or conduct of participating restaurants or event providers; these remain their responsibility.
- We are not responsible for the content of third-party sites we link to (including ialoc and the payment processor), which have their own terms.
- For tickets bought through the Site, our total liability is limited to the value of the ticket paid for the event concerned.
- We do not exclude or limit liability where the law does not allow it, for example for death or personal injury caused by our fault, fraud or gross negligence.
Food safety and allergens
Food offered during the Festival is prepared and served by the participating restaurants and event providers, who are responsible for compliance with food-safety rules and allergen information. If you have allergies or intolerances, inform the restaurant or event organiser before ordering or attending.
Force majeure
We are not liable for failure or delay in performing our obligations due to causes beyond our reasonable control (force majeure), including but not limited to extreme weather, disasters, epidemics or pandemics, authority restrictions, or interruptions of utilities or third-party services.
Data protection
How we process your data is described in the Privacy Policy and the Cookie Policy, which form part of these Terms.
Changes to these Terms
We may amend these Terms. The version applicable to a purchase is the one in force when you place your order. Changes are published on this page, with the date updated.
Governing law and dispute resolution
These Terms are governed by Romanian law. You may contact us at any time at hello@foodweek.ro and we will try to resolve any complaint amicably. As a consumer, you may contact the National Authority for Consumer Protection (ANPC), anpc.ro, and use the European Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform: ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. Disputes not resolved amicably fall under the jurisdiction of the Romanian courts.
